A Richmond-based entrepreneur who built a student recruitment business from his bedroom as a teenager is set to appear in the next series of BBC One’s The Apprentice.
Dan Miller, a student recruitment owner who works with some of the world’s “biggest companies” has said he would like Lord Sugar’s help to take his company to the next level after running it on his own for almost 10 years.
So far, the entrepreneur has worked with companies such as PricewaterhouseCoopers and Goldman Sachs, after starting the business from his bedroom in Derby at the age of 17.
Now based in Richmond, he said he always sees the best in people, and his “whole brand and business have been built around community, giving back and opportunity”.
In BBC One’s The Apprentice, candidates compete in a series of challenges and tasks set by the 78-year-old tycoon to prove themselves worthy of entering a 50/50 business with him, which would also receive a £250,000 investment.
They do this under the eagle-eyed gaze of Lord Sugar’s two trusted business associates and aides, Baroness Karren Brady and Tim Campbell, who won the first series in 2005.
On the social media platform LinkedIn, Dan wrote: "The CEO becomes The Apprentice.
“Recently I had the opportunity of a lifetime to take part in one of the UKs biggest business shows.
“I learnt so much, challenged myself and stepped out of my comfort zone which is something I always encourage our students in the YP network to do.
“I’d like to thank my entire team for running the business whilst I was away and to all of our amazing clients, students and educational institutions who have supported us all the way.
"I can’t wait to share the journey with you all.”
The 2025 season of The Apprentice has already generated excitement in south London, with two candidates from the area reaching the final five.
Anisa Khan, owner of Bombay Pizza in Wallington, and Amber-Rose Badrudin, co-founder of Oree Mart in Croydon, both made it to the penultimate round after 10 weeks of intense competition.
The final episode saw Anisa battle it out with air conditioning business owner Dean Franklin, who ultimately won the series.
The Apprentice returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Thursday, January 29.
