Choosing where to study after school is a big decision – and at New City College, we’re here to make sure it’s the right one. As one of the most successful college groups in London and Essex, NCC offers an outstanding education with pathways to university, apprenticeships and exciting careers.

Ofsted Outstanding

Rated Ofsted Outstanding in 2025 and recognised for high standards, expert teaching and exceptional student support, New City College gives every learner the confidence, skills and experience to aim higher and succeed.

High achievement rates

Our strong reputation is built on success. NCC’s achievement rates are consistently well above the national average, and every year thousands of our students progress to university, higher apprenticeships or skilled employment with major companies, thanks to our strong partnerships with businesses across the region. These links provide invaluable work placements and networking opportunities – helping students take their next steps with purpose.

Learning beyond the classroom

Learning at NCC goes beyond the classroom. Students benefit from exciting enrichment opportunities, including funded international trips that broaden horizons, build cultural awareness and deepen subject learning. These overseas experiences help students develop independence, confidence and lasting life skills.

Huge choice of courses

The range of courses at NCC is huge. You can choose from A Levels, T Levels, vocational or technical courses – there's something for every learner, whatever your GCSE grades.

A Levels are delivered by specialist teachers in high-quality learning environments. Students gain excellent results – this year 32% achieved high grades A*-B. Our science courses have been awarded a prestigious accreditation by the IKE, marking our commitment to excellence and innovation. For students with big ambitions, our prestigious Medics and Aiming High programmes offer additional mentoring and university preparation to help students stand out.

Specialist training

For those learners who want more specialist training leading directly to a particular career, we have qualifications from BTECs to City & Guilds and T Levels. NCC has been selected by the Government as a Technical Excellence College, recognising our leadership in high-quality vocational and technical education and the vital role we play in developing the skilled workforce of the future. From construction, engineering, catering and digital to health, creative industries, business and sport, learners develop practical, work-related skills using industry-standard facilities.

Student support

What makes NCC special is our commitment to supporting every student, from academic and study support to dedicated mental health and pastoral care. College is about more than qualifications – it’s about confidence, independence and preparing for life beyond the classroom – and our students often tell us how transformative their time at NCC has been.

Erika studied Sports and Exercise Science and says NCC is the reason she achieved a Triple Distinction grade. She says: “My teachers were not only supportive but also really knowledgeable in their subject, which made learning much easier. They encouraged me and gave me the confidence to aim higher. Thanks to their teaching I achieved a grade I am really proud of. Now I’m at university studying Sports Psychology.”
