A 14-year-old girl from Epsom is set to dazzle viewers on Junior Bake Off, which returned to screens last night.
Miko, who lives with her parents and has two older sisters, is one of 16 young bakers competing in the iconic white tent.
An animal lover, Miko enjoys caring for her pet bunny Bubbles and has a passion for all things creative, including art, drama, singing, and, of course, baking.
Her love of baking comes from her mum, who taught her everything from cupcakes to chiffon cakes.
According to the Great British Bake Off website, Miko is known as “the baker” at her school, celebrated for her intricate cake decoration.
In a Channel 4 Q&A, Miko said she applied to Junior Bake Off to share her passion for baking, make new friends, and gain “the experience of a lifetime.”
She added she had watched almost all previous series of the show.
Miko said: "I felt so excited walking into the big iconic white tent for the very first time.
“It felt so unreal that I was walking into exactly what I saw on TV (and behind the scenes).”
According to the What's on in Epsom Facebook page, Miko's parents are said to run Asian Kitchen, with locations in Epsom and London.
In a post shared on the community page, the post reads: "GOOD LUCK to local resident Miko, who is set to dazzle the nation with her baking skills on Junior Bake Off."
In the first episode on Monday night, Miko finished fifth in the initial Victoria sponge challenge.
The main task, the Showstopper, required contestants to “reimagine” a favourite mascot into a cake.
Miko chose a fluffy lamb named Mary and created a “Choco Orange Fantasy” cake, featuring an orange and confetti sponge filled with chocolate whipped ganache.
Judges Liam Charles and Ravneet Gill praised her flavour combinations and decoration, with Liam noting: “The chocolate ganache and the combination with the orange is a classic, it’s one of my favourites.”
Miko said one of her favourite challenges was trying to talk to comedian Harry Hill while baking under time pressure.
She added: “I wanted to impress Rav the most because I think she is an inspiring pastry chef and an absolutely amazing baker.
“Liam is also amazing.
“I loved meeting everyone and Harry was so funny.
“He cheered me up when I was under stress.”
No contestants were eliminated in the first episode, with 14-year-old Aiyla from West Yorkshire winning star baker.
Other contestants from London and surrounding areas include 12-year-old Elroy from Surrey, 13-year-old Umayr from London, and 15-year-old Khadeejah, who was born in Devon and now lives in London.
