Croydon’s newest Wetherspoon pub has officially opened, with customers now able to step inside the newly refurbished Coombe Lodge on Coombe Road.
The pub, which opened earlier this month in the Grade II-listed Coombe Lodge building, is the town’s fourth Wetherspoon and includes a large indoor dining area as well as a beer garden.

Images taken inside and outside the pub show the transformation of the historic building, which previously operated as a Beefeater restaurant for 37 years before closing permanently at the start of September.
Externally, Coombe Lodge retains much of its original character, with the pub’s name mounted on exposed brickwork and illuminated by subtle exterior lighting.

Large sash windows overlook Coombe Road, offering a glimpse into the warmly lit interior.
Inside, the photographs reveal a spacious main dining area beneath a glass-roofed conservatory.
The space features black-and-white tiled flooring, dark wooden tables and red-upholstered chairs, alongside industrial-style pendant lights suspended from the high ceiling.

The layout creates an open, airy feel while maintaining a traditional pub atmosphere.
Further images show the pub’s beer garden, where wooden picnic benches are spread across a grassy outdoor area.

Decorative lighting and surrounding trees provide additional seating for customers, particularly during warmer weather.
Coombe Lodge is the latest addition to Croydon’s Wetherspoon estate, joining The George on George Street, The Sir Julian Huxley on Addington Road and The Moon Under Water on London Road.
Before the pandemic, Croydon had eight Wetherspoons pubs, with several closing in recent years, including Milan Bar on High Street, The Foxley Hatch in Purley and The Flora Sandes in Thornton Heath.
The building previously operated as a Beefeater before Whitbread, its owner, announced plans to sell 38 of its restaurant-pubs for £38 million.
Coombe Lodge Wetherspoon is open every day from 8am to 11.30pm.
