The Wandsworth Town Christmas Festival is set to make a festive return this December.
The full-day event in Wandsworth will take place on Saturday, December 6, featuring the Christmas lights switch-on and an array of activities.
The festival, organised by Wandsworth Town Business Improvement District (BID) in collaboration with Southside Wandsworth and Ram Quarter, promises a day of fun for families.
Visitors can look forward to browsing for unique gifts and enjoying food at the market in the Ram Quarter.
The little ones will have the opportunity to see animals up close at the mobile city farm.
For those who enjoy a bit of competition, there will be games including giant chess and curling.
Southside Shopping Centre will host live entertainment on the Piazza, with performances from local artists, musicians, and schools, all broadcast by Riverside Radio.
Inside the centre, children can visit Santa Claus at the Southside's Festive Grotto.
Wandsworth Town Library will also be getting involved with arts and crafts and Lego activities for children from 10am to 12pm, and a Festive Embroidery Café for adults from 1pm to 3pm.
The day will conclude with a raffle prize draw at 4.30pm and the Christmas light switch-on at 5pm on the Piazza.
The festival, which is sponsored by Wandsworth Mills, Sambrook’s Brewery, and Wandsworth Council, aims to bring people together and support local businesses.
James Mbanefo, executive director of Wandsworth Town BID, said: "The Christmas Festival has become a local staple in our community, so it’s an honour for us to be able to bring it to town each year and spread some festive joy.
"It’s great to see locals and visitors experiencing everything that Wandsworth Town has to offer.
"It’s a great boom for local businesses, too, and we feel there really is something for everyone here."
Shannon Reed, centre director at Southside, added: "Christmas is always a fun time of year, so we wanted to Southside to match that energy. As well as the festive activities we have coming up for Christmas, we also have some new additions to the centre, including Rituals, the home of luxurious bath and body products, as well as home furnishings store Dunelm."
Visitors are encouraged to download the Wandsworth Town app to stay updated on events and offers in the area.
