A 13th-century pub in Surrey is set to undergo a six-figure renovation.

Ye Olde Swan, a riverside pub in Thames Ditton, Surrey, which has been a popular spot for centuries, temporarily closed on October 25 for renovations expected to complete in early December.

Located on Summer Road, the Greene King establishment has plans to reopen in early December.

The renovations aim to blend its rustic charm with elevated food and drink menus. It promises to continue to be a much-loved pub where customers can enjoy its cosy nooks and open fires alongside the best of today’s food and drinks offerings.

The planned upgrades will maintain the pub's historical allure while introducing a selection of more modern comforts.

These enhancements will extend to the pub's interior to create a congenial atmosphere for guests, whether they are seeking a midweek drink, a bite to eat, or celebrating a special occasion with friends and family.

Ye Olde Swan's beer garden, which features views over the Thames, will also receive a revamp, providing a cosy outdoor dining area that can be enjoyed throughout the year.
