A picture trail with a festive twist is bringing a sprinkle of magic to Croydon this summer.

The family-friendly activity, inspired by Beauty and the Beast, will run throughout August to celebrate this year’s Fairfield Halls pantomime and offer one lucky winner the chance to win a family ticket to the show.

Families are invited to take part in the competition-style trail by finding four themed posters hidden around Croydon town centre, each featuring artwork from the classic fairy tale.

Steve Turner, director of venues at BH Live, said: "We’re thrilled to bring a touch of magic to Croydon this summer with our panto poster trail.

"It’s a fun, free activity for families to get ready and excited for panto and gives participants the chance to explore the borough in a brand-new way.

"We can’t wait to welcome audiences back to the Fairfield Halls this December for what promises to be a truly spectacular show."

The posters will be displayed from Monday, August 4, until Sunday, August 31.

Clues will be available on the Fairfield Halls website to help families find each location.

The hints are themed around the story, including: "A place full of stories – Belle’s favourite spot," "Where panto magic comes to life on stage," "Where Croydon’s past is on display," and "You’ll never be ‘Board’ of games here."

Participants must photograph each poster and upload their images online before 11.59pm on Sunday, August 31.

One winner will be selected at random and notified by email.

Full details of the trail and entry instructions are available at fairfield.co.uk/beauty-and-the-beast-trail.

The pantomime will run at Fairfield Halls from Friday, December 12, to Sunday, January 4, 2026, and promises "sparkle, laughter and wonder for all ages."

The cast includes EastEnders star Ellie Dadd, along with returning panto favourites Jamie Steen and Charlie Guest.

The production will also offer relaxed and captioned performances, as well as dedicated school shows.

Fairfield Halls is owned by Croydon Council and operated in partnership with BH Live, a registered charity and social enterprise.
