A 17-year-old boy has been left with “potentially life-changing injuries” after a shooting in Croydon.
Police were called to Park Street, a short distance from Croydon College, after reports of gunfire yesterday (February 10) at 7.37pm.
The teenager was treated at the scene before taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg.
He is thought to have potentially life-changing injuries, the Metropolitan Police said.
A crime scene remains in place today (February 11) as officers continue to investigate – with a stretch of shops cordoned off.
No arrests have been made at this time.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “We were called at 19:37hrs on Monday, 10 February to reports of a shooting in Park Street.
“Met officers responded with paramedics and a 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg. His condition was assessed as potentially life-changing . His next of kin have been informed.
“A crime scene is in place and enquiries are ongoing. There have been no arrests.”
