A person has been taken to hospital after a shooting in Croydon.

Police have cordoned off Park Street, a short distance from Croydon College, after reports of gunfire yesterday (February 10) at 7.37pm.

Medics treated the victim with first aid before taking them to hospital.

The Metropolitan Police is not able to provide details on their condition at this time.

A crime scene remains in place today (February 11) as officers continue to investigate the incident.

No arrests have been made at this time.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “At 7.37pm yesterday (February 10), police were called to reports of firearms discharge at Park Street, Croydon, and a male having been shot.

“Police and LAS attended the location and provided first aid to the victim.

“The victim has been taken to hospital and we await an update on their condition.

“A crime scene is in place, no arrests have been made, and enquiries are ongoing.”
