A picture shows a suspect being led away by armed police who surrounded a house in Carshalton.
The man was arrested after a six-hour standoff with police in Bramblewood Close yesterday, (January 30).
The pictures show the officers with their guns trained on the house before entering through the door.
A neighbour, Aston Massey, said: “They [the armed police] had every angle covered that you can imagine. 
“They were on the road. They were in back gardens. They were in people's doorways.”
In another picture, the suspect can be seen with his hands behind his back being led away by two officers.
Police responded to reports of an assault at an address in Bramblewood Close at 8.45am.
Specialist armed officers were requested as backup after a man at the home produced an apparent gun.
Aston described police even entering her garden and telling her to prepare to evacuate her house.
Negotiations lasted until approximately 2.50pm, when the suspect was arrested on suspicion of firearms offences.
A gun, believed to be an imitation weapon, was recovered from the scene and will be taken away to be examined.
There are no reports of any serious injuries.
Investigations are underway and the Metropolitan Police has been contacted for an update.
