OpenTable has named the UK’s most romantic restaurants ahead of Valentine's Day – and six of them are in south east London.

This year's top 100 romantic restaurants have been selected based on diner reviews and data, to find the UK’s most romantic dining spots in time for February 14.

In total, 39 restaurants across the capital made the highly coveted list this year, including six in south London.

From Sunday roasts to cosy French bistros – here are all this year's south London restaurants named by OpenTable as the most romantic.

JOIA Restaurant & Bar, Battersea

Battersea’s JOIA is the creation of Michelin-starred chef Henrique Sá Pessoa, with a menu inspired by the culinary heritage of Portugal and the Iberian Peninsula.

This rooftop restaurant offers full views of the city from 15 floors up, with views of the iconic Battersea Power Station.

Their menu serves Iberian classics like Octopus Salad, Beef Pica Pau and Carabineros Prawns, with a Valentine’s menu priced at £125.

Roast, London Bridge

Situated in the bustling Borough Market, Roast is a popular British restaurant known for their award-winning roast dinners.

With colourful floral interiors and views of London, this restaurant makes for the ideal spot if you’re looking to enjoy a romantic classic roast this Valentine’s Day.

Swan London, Bankside

What better romantic setting could there be than to have a meal within Shakespeare’s Globe, known for its performances of famed romances like Romeo and Juliet and Antony and Cleopatra.

This rustic restaurant, with wooden interiors and views of the River Thames, serves up a seasonal menu celebrating the best of British, along with their popular Sunday Roast and an Afternoon Tea which will be inspired by Shakespeare if you visit between February 12 and May 31.

The French Table, Surbiton

This restaurant serves French food to customers, with options ranging from a three-course menu to a five-course tasting menu.

The menu, using British produce, is “always changing”, with one of December’s most popular dishes being the venison roasted in smoked tea butter with beetroot and potato gratin.

The restaurant is situated across two floors, offering guests a “laid back and comfortable” setting to try French cuisine.

Occasionally, the French Table also hosts their “Wine Dinners”, where the restaurant will co-host with a visiting winemaker and a four-course menu to accompany the wines selected on the night.

Combining fine dining with views of the city, this Asian restaurant is situated within the iconic location of The Shard with views from 35 floors up.

The restaurant serves up Asian fare using locally sourced ingredients, and is offering a Valentine’s Day set menu priced at £260, serving up a four-course romantic menu accompanied by jazz music.

The restaurant is an intimate little dining space for up to 40 guests with green and pink hues, offering the perfect romantic spot for a meal.

For £190 you can also get their Valentine’s set menu with six unique courses on offer.
