Sutton has launched 81 new zero-emission buses across several routes.
The buses will serve routes 93, 154, 164, 213, and some on route 80.
This addition will bring the total number of zero-emission buses in the borough to 90.
The initiative is a collaboration between TfL, Sutton Council and Go Ahead.
A TfL spokesperson said: "This will help tackle climate change and improve local air quality."
The new electric buses come with features aimed at enhancing passenger comfort and convenience.
These include LED screens on both decks displaying live travel information, USB phone charging ports, and panoramic roofing on the upper deck.
Furthermore, the buses feature larger areas for wheelchairs and buggies, clearly marked priority seats, and high-back seats for increased comfort.
According to TfL, the changes mean that 85 per cent of Sutton residents now live within 400 metres of a bus stop.
Louise Cheeseman, Director of Buses at TfL, said: “We’re very pleased to add more than 80 new zero emission buses to our fleet in Sutton.
"Buses remain the quickest, easiest, and cheapest way to shift trips made by cars to public transport.
"Thanks to the introduction of these new vehicles, half of the bus journeys undertaken in the borough will be zero emission, helping to improve the air quality for those who work and live in the area, or who travel to Sutton to visit its leading cancer treatment and research facilities.”
