A gun shot has reportedly been fired at the window of a black taxi on a busy street in central London.
The incident allegedly happened in Dean Street, Soho near Oxford Street at 10.10am today (October 1).
The driver reported that he was stationary in traffic when a shot was fired towards his vehicle, striking the window.
No injuries were reported following the incident.
No arrests have been made as police enquiries into the circumstances continue.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 10:10hrs on Tuesday, 1 October to a report of a firearms discharge on Dean Street, Westminster.
“The driver of a London black taxi reported he was stationary in traffic when a shot was fired towards his vehicle, striking the window.
“There were no injuries.
“An investigation has been launched and road closures remain in place.”
