A Sri Lankan restaurant, an Indian takeaway and a café in Sutton scored poor hygiene ratings in 2024.
Four establishments in the Sutton borough a 2/5 – meaning improvement was “necessary” or below during inspections since January.
Inspectors from Sutton Council’s environmental health even found one of these scored the low score, a 1/5, meaning that “major improvement” was necessary.
The venues include:
Ayrra Express
This Indian restaurant on Wrythe Lane was given a 1/5, meaning “major improvement necessary” on July 23.
The management of food safety was rated “major improvement necessary” while the cleanliness and condition of facilities and the hygienic food handling were both given a “generally satisfactory” rating.
Café Prazeres
This café on 215 Carshalton Road was given a 2/5, meaning “improvement necessary” on January 26.
The cleanliness and condition of the facilities were given an “improvement necessary” rating, while the management of food safety and hygienic food handling were rated “generally satisfactory”.
Divana Lounge
This restaurant on 23 Stonecot Hill was given a 2/5, meaning “improvement necessary” on August 21.
Improvement was found necessary in hygienic food handling, while the cleanliness and condition of facilities was “generally satisfactory”.
The management of food safety was “good”.
SpiCeylon
This Sri Lankan restaurant on Wrythe Lane was given a 2/5, meaning “improvement necessary” on July 24.
Improvement was necessary in the hygienic food handling and cleanliness and condition of the facilities areas, while the management of food safety was rated “generally satisfactory”.
Taste of Ceylon
This Sri Lankan restaurant on 47 Stafford Road was also given a “improvement necessary” rating after it was given a 2/5 on August 7.
The cleanliness and condition of the facilities were given an “improvement necessary”, while the management of food safety and hygienic food handling were generally satisfactory.
