Old Bank New Addington: Man fights for life after shooting

A man is fighting for his life after a shooting in New Addington in the early hours of the morning.

Police were called to  Old Bank at around 4.30am and a man, 28, was found at the scene having been shot.

He was taken to hospital, where he remains, in a life-threatening condition.

A crime scene remains in place and enquiries are ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 1420/22Jun.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 04:31hrs to Oak Bank, New Addington following reports of a firearms discharge.

“Officers responded with the LAS and London's Air Ambulance.

“A 28-year-old man was found a gunshot injury.

“He was taken to hospital, where he remains. His condition is being treated as life-threatening.

“There have been no arrests at this early stage.

“A crime scene is in place and enquiries are ongoing."
