A busy road in Brixton has been closed off after gun shots were fired into a Sainsbury's store window.

Police were called to reports of gun shots in Tulse Hill at around 10pm on Monday night.

Police at the scene discovered evidence of a firearm being shot near to a supermarket - with one window smashed.

There were no firearm-related injuries, although one member of the public grazed her knee after “dropping to the floor.”

No arrests have been made and police enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called to Tulse Hill, SW2, shortly before 22.00hrs on Monday, 20 May to reports of shots fired.

“Officers attended. Evidence of a firearm being discharged was discovered at the scene near to a supermarket, where a window was smashed.

“There are no firearm related injuries, one member of the public shopping in the store grazed her knee after dropping to the floor.

“There have been no arrests. Enquiries are ongoing.

“Any witnesses or anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call 101, quoting CAD 8518/20May.”
