Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious crash in Ewell this afternoon.

Officers were called to Kingston Road at 2.45pm today (Tuesday) following a crash between the driver of a car and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a man in his 70s, has been taken to hospital for medical treatment.

The A240 is currently closed between the junctions of Ruxley Lane and Timbercroft.

If you have any CCTV, dash cam or helmet cam footage that could help, direct message Surrey Police quoting CAD 0460 07 MAY 24. 

A spokesperson for Surrey Police said: "We are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Ewell this afternoon.

"Officers were called to Kingston Road in Ewell at 2.45pm following a collision between the driver of a car and a pedestrian.

"The pedestrian, a man in his 70s, has been taken to hospital for medical treatment.

"The A240 is currently closed between the junctions of Ruxley Lane and Timbercroft.

"Were you in the area around Kingston Road between 2.40pm and 2.50pm this afternoon? Do you have any CCTV, dash cam or helmet cam footage that might assist our investigation?

"If you have any information that might assist our investigation please DM us quoting CAD 0460 07 MAY 24."
