The rider of an e-scooter has been taken to hospital after crashing into the pavement in Putney.
The incident happened in Roehampton Lane just after 5.30am today (April 29).
Officers and London Ambulance Service crews were called to the scene and found a man unresponsive.
He was taken to hospital for treatment where his injuries are currently being assessed.
Police say he has gained consciousness and does not believe anyone else was involved in the incident.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called to Roehampton Lane, Wandsworth, SW15 near Putney by London Ambulance services at 05:48hrs on Monday, 29 April following reports that a there was a road traffic collision.
“A man driving an electric scooter collided with the pavement and fell off the bike. London Ambulance attended and found the man unconscious.
“He has now gained consciousness and said he does not believe anyone else was involved in the cause of the incident.
“The man was taken to a local hospital where his injuries are being assessed.
“Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 quoting reference CAD 990/29Apr24.”
A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 5:34am today (April 29) to reports of someone unresponsive on Roehampton Lane, SW15.
“We sent resources to the scene including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, and an incident response officer.
“We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance by car.
“We treated a patient at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre.”
