A new B&M store has officially opened in Epsom, with staff from a local foodbank invited to the launch.

The store, previously a 26,548 sq ft Wilko, underwent comprehensive refurbishments before opening its doors on Friday, March 1 at 8am.

The launch has created 60 new jobs.

B&M customers can now enjoy their wide range of branded groceries offered at the lowest possible prices, including food, drink, pet food, health and beauty products, homeware, electrical appliances, DIY essentials, toys, games, and gifts.

B&M staff nominated a local charity to have the honour of unveiling the new store.

Epsom and Ewell Foodbank won the team's nomination for their work combatting poverty in the community.

Epsom and Ewell Foodbank is one of the Trussell Trust national network of food banks.

They provide emergency food, support, and advice to those suffering from severe financial hardships.

In 2023 they supplied 10,100 provisions to those in need within the local community.

The charity also generates around 200 volunteer hours per week, working towards a poverty-free future.

Alongside the honour of opening the new B&M store, Epsom and Ewell Foodbank received £250 worth of B&M vouchers.

The store manager said: "It was really exciting to welcome customers through the doors; the feedback so far has been fantastic.

"A big thank you to the team at Epsom and Ewell Foodbank who helped us open the store; we hope that our donation can help them to continue to do the great work they do."
