Police are appealing for information after a crash in Croydon, where the occupants of one vehicle fled the scene.

Police were called to Coomber Way in Croydon at around 10:05am today (February 8) to the crash involving two vehicles.

The occupants of one of the vehicles had “left the scene” prior to police arriving and officers conducting enquiries to locate them.

The road was cordoned off by police whilst the vehicles were recovered, with road closures being lifted by 12:15pm.

Anyone with information should quote CAD 2030/8Feb on 101.

In a statement, Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at approximately 10:05hrs on Thursday, 8 February to reports of a collision between two vehicles in Coomber Way, Croydon.

“Officers attended the scene.

“The occupants of one of the vehicles had left the scene prior to police arrival; enquiries are ongoing to locate them.

“No reports of any serious injuries.

“A scene was put in place while the vehicles were recovered; the road was cleared at approximately 12:15hrs.

“Enquiries into the circumstances continue.

“Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC and quote CAD 2030/8Feb.”
