A street cleaner who dances with Michael Jackson-style moves while picking up litter in Chiswick High Road has become popular on YouTube.

More than two thousand people have watched the clip of 47-year-old Zbigniew Colbecki as he spins, turns and twirls to the music on his iPod while cleaning the road.

The Polish migrant, known as Ziggy, came to Britain three years ago and worked as a watchmaker and DJ before becoming a street cleaner.

He told the Daily Telegraph: "I dance while I am working because it makes it much more fun.

"I just love music and dancing. I am used to performing and I get a great reaction from people in Chiswick, who have been so friendly towards me.

"Mothers stop with their children and dance with me and one old lady phoned the council to say she wanted to take me for a cup of tea on my break.

"It is not the most interesting of jobs but I am very happy doing it because I make other people happy and have made lots of friends."

He said his free-style steps are improvised and that he watches his shadow on the pavement and his reflection in shop windows while he makes he moves.
