The cause of a garage fire in south Croydon is now under investigation by the fire service.

The blaze broke out at around 9.07am yesterday (January 18) and half of a single-storey garage and utility room was damaged in the fire.

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were sent to the scene at the detached house on Manor Way.

Woodside, Addington and Croydon fire crews brought the fire under control by 11.14am.

It is believed nobody was injured in the fire.

A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a detached house on Manor Way in South Croydon. “Half of a single-storey garage and utility room was damaged by fire.

“There were no reports of any injuries. “The Brigade was called at 0907 and the fire was under control by 1114.

“Fire crews from Woodside, Addington and Croydon fire stations attended the scene. “The cause of the fire is under investigation. “
