One of the perks of being a Londoner is getting the chance to live close to some iconic locations used in loved films and television shows.

You may not have known that there are lots of famous films that were recorded right on your doorstep.

According to the movie mapper created by Virgin Media, there are six movies filmed in south London that you might have seen.

Miss Potter – Kingston upon Thames

Miss Potter is a biological drama film following the life of famous British children’s author and illustrator Beatrix Potter.

Virgin Media said: “The film delves into her journey as a pioneering children's book writer and her struggles to gain recognition in a male-dominated world.

The Favourite – Hampton Court Palace

The Favourite is a historical black comedy-drama film released in 2018.

It is set in the early 1700s and centres around the power struggles and personal life of Queen Anne of England.

According to Virgin Media: “It follows the intense rivalry between two cousins, Sarah Churchill and Abigail Masham, as they vie for the Queen's favour.

“The film is known for its dark humour, exceptional performances, and its unique take on the historical period drama genre.”

Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging – Twickenham

Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging is a classic, British coming-of-age- comedy film released in 2008.

It’s based on a novel by Louise Rennison and follows the life of teenage girl Georgia Nicolson.

Virgin Media said: “The story explores Georgia's misadventures, friendships, and her pursuit of the perfect boyfriend.

“With humour and relatable teen experiences, the film offers a light-hearted and entertaining take on the challenges of adolescence.”

Secrets and Lies – Richmond

Secrets and Lies is a British drama film directed by Mike Leigh and released in 1996.

Virgin Media said: “The film delves into the complexities of family and identity as it follows a middle-aged black woman who discovers the existence of her long-lost white birth mother.

“The movie explores the challenges and revelations that arise when hidden family secrets come to light, offering a deeply emotional and character-driven narrative.”

Snatch – Streatham

The British comedy-drama Snatch, directed by Guy Ritchie, was released in 2000.

James Bond - Vauxhall

The James Bond franchise, a quintessential British spy series, features the suave and resourceful MI6 agent, James Bond.

Created by Ian Fleming, Bond embarks on thrilling missions, confronting iconic villains and utilizing cutting-edge gadgets.

Fast and Furious 6 – Lambeth Bridge

The iconic franchise Fast and Furious filmed some of the sixth instalment at Lambeth Bridge.

World War Z – Elephant and Castle

According to Virgin Media: World War Z is a gripping film that explores a global pandemic of zombie-like creatures.

Everyone knows and loves Johnny English as a series of hilarious spy comedy films starring Rowan Atkinson.
