A former Metropolitan Police officer has been charged with a further six counts of raping the same victim, which allegedly happened in south west London.

Cliff Mitchell, 23, who was attached to the west area basic command unit, was charged on Wednesday, December 6 with three counts of rape of a girl under 13 and three counts of rape of a girl aged 13/14/15-years-old.

The offences allegedly took place between 2014 and 2017 at an address in south west London.

He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, December 13.

Mitchell was dismissed from the Metropolitan Police on Thursday, December 7.

The Metropolitan Police has said that it will not be discussing the circumstances around this at present to avoid prejudicing a criminal trial.

“To avoid prejudicing ongoing criminal proceedings, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”
