A viral TikTok has shown the spot on a tube being used as a “urinal” as people took desperate measures while being stuck on the train for hours.

Due to a power failure, an Elizabeth Line train came to halt between 7.30pm and around 10.30pm last night (Thursday, December 7).

Many passengers took to social media to beg British Transport Police and TfL to help them.

Reading out a tweet someone shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, the TikTok user said: “We had to use this corner of the train as a urinal.

@stells_press Not something I would usually comment on…. But the scenes were toooo mad to ignore😳😳 #elizabethline #transportforlondon #uk #londontravel #stellspress ♬ original sound - Stella | Celeb Reporter⭐️✨💫

“We have been stuck for nearly two hours now.”

She goes on to say: “You know there will be one person who wasn’t aware and slips on it like a cartoon.”

The TikToker, @stella_press, added: “My heart goes out to the people stuck on the Lizzy line tube tonight because my breakdown would have been streamed on all social platforms.

“Four hours? I hope everyone gets compensated for emotional distress.”

Others documented their “great escape” from the train as they walked along the train tracks in pitch black darkness to get back to a train station.

Some passengers may even have missed flights as the train was headed towards Heathrow.

One X user plead to British Airways for help as it looked like they would miss their flight.

They said: “We are going to miss our flight to Australia which we have been waiting to go on since before Covid @britishairways.”

Another said: “Unbelievable they didn’t let us out in the first hour considering half the passengers were travelling to Heathrow.”

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “Firefighters assisted Transport for London, Network Rail and British Transport Police with several incidents following a power failure between Paddington and Ladbroke Grove train stations.

“Firefighters assisted partners at Ladbroke Grove Underground Station after an overheard line fell.

“Around 1000 passengers on a nine-carriage train were returned to Paddington Station after the track was confirmed to be clear.

“The Brigade was called at 1929 and the incident was over for firefighters at 2236.”
