A man who claimed he was “just scratching” when he touched his groin area on a bus has been found guilty of outraging public decency.

Mohammed Faqe, 33, was accused of touching and stroking his penis over his clothes in front of other passengers on the bus.

The offences were said to have taken place on the 119 bus in Bromley on May 10 and then June 19 this year.

Faqe claimed he was not masturbating or touching himself in a disgusting manner, he said he was just scratching his groin area.

But at a trial at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (November 8) he was found guilty of outraging public on May 10.

He was found not guilty of the second charge relating to the incident on June 19.

Faqe, of Dunheved Road South in Thornton Heath, will be sentenced in December.

Until then he was bailed with instructions not to travel on the 119 bus.
