A teenage girl who was stabbed to death in Croydon has been pictured for the first time.
Mehak Sharma was found stabbed in the neck in Ash Tree Way at 4.10pm on October 29.
The 19-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.
Her next of kin have been informed and a formal identification awaits.
Sahil Sharma, 23, of Ash Tree Way in Croydon, appeared in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court yesterday (October 31) charged with murder.
Sharma will next appear at the Old Bailey tomorrow (November 2).
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “A man will appear in court charged with the murder of a woman in Croydon.
“Sahil Sharma, 23, of Ash Tree Way, Croydon will appear in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 31 October charged with the murder of 19-year-old Mehak Sharma.
“He will next appear at the Old Bailey on Thursday, 2 November.
“The charge relates to an incident at an address in Ash Tree Way, Croydon on Sunday, 29 October.
“Mehak’s next of kin have been informed and formal identification awaits.
“A special post-mortem examination conducted on Tuesday, 31 October found the cause of Mehak's death to have been a stab wound to the neck.
“Anyone with information that may assist the investigation, including anyone who saw or heard a disturbance on Sunday afternoon at the address in Ash Tree Way, is asked to call police.
“Any witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101 or contact via X(Twitter) @MetCC. Please quote CAD 4546/29OCT2.
