A man from Sutton has been charged with the murder of a 32-year-old man in Battersea.

Earl Morin-Briton, 36, of Rose Hill in Sutton, is accused of murdering Theo Porteous on Thursday August 24.

Mr Porteous was found with multiple stab wounds on Thessaly Road in Nine Elms at 12.36pm.

Paramedics and an air ambulance attended but the 32-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene at 1.09pm.

Morin-Briton was arrested on Saturday (September 2) and taken to a police station where he was charged with Mr Porteous’ murder.

Mr Porteous’ former teammates at Old Thorntonians FC paid tribute to him after his death.

The club said: “Today we remember former player Theo Porteous, who sadly, was fatally stabbed last week in Battersea.

“To pay tribute to Theo, today all teams, both home and away, will wear black armbands and observe a minute’s applause before their matches.”

Morin-Briton will appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Monday (September 4).
