A brand new B&Q has opened its doors in Sutton today (Thursday, August 24) on High Street, Sutton.

In preparation for the launch, the B&Q team headed to Sutton’s Local Women’s Centre for a community volunteering day.

They did this as part of the B&Q Community Days Programme, focusing on getting B&Q colleagues into the local community to improve the space for a charity close to them.

The day’s activities saw the team repaint the rooms to make them cleaner and brighter, as well as improving the outside of the building to make it feel more welcoming to visitors.

Liz, Manager of Sutton Women’s Centre, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome the B&Q team to our site, they have done a brilliant job at transforming several rooms and the outside of our building to help make it a more welcoming place.

“The team have made some big changes which will help make a difference for our visitors.”

Unit Manager, Justin Haines will be joined by Mayor Cllr Colin Stears today as part of the opening day celebrations.

B&Q’s new compact 8,700sq. ft store will offer 6,000 products, available either in store for immediate pick-up or for one-hour or next day click and collect, as well as access to over 350,000 more home improvement products for home delivery.
