Face of Croydon winner Kym Whittle will not be stripped of her crown and will retain her title and prizes.

The Croydon Guardian revealed this week that the 18-year-old may not have been eligible to enter the competition as she does not live full-time in Croydon.

Miss Whittle's sister Sherine, admitted that the model lived with her parents in Lewisham while at college and only part-time in Thornton Heath.

Organisers Fashion Enter said that Miss Whittle had confirmed in writing that she was resident in Thornton Heath when she applied for the competition.

They said: "The contents of her email are private and confidential and will remain so. All judges have been alerted to the allegations and all are in agreement that Ms Whittle is to retain her winning position."

Jenny Holloway, Fashion Enter director, said: "We have researched the application by Miss Whittle and we are confident now that she was eligible to apply.

"I would personally like to wish the two winners, Kym Whittle and Sally Macdonald, the People's Choice, sincere congratulations and success in their future career; both are worthy winners indeed. The matter is now closed".

Miss Whittle has her first photo shoot assignment on Monday in central London with Rah Productions.
