A disabled man today admitted sexually assaulting a young girl on a bus in Kingston.
Karl Martin, 42, of Stapleford Close, pleaded guilty to assaulting the female on the 131 bus from Raynes Park to Kingston on March 25.
Martin appeared at Kingston Crown Court this morning and had to communicate with the use of paper signs.
The court heard he suffers from Torsion Dystonia, a genetic condition which causes muscle contractions, which affects his ability to speak.
Martin also asked for a similar offence, committed in New Malden between Jan 1 and Dec 31, 1995 to be taken into consideration.
Martin's defence counsel pleaded with the judge to give him bail as the court heard he had suffered a seizure in prison because his medication was not given on time.
Despite this, His Honour Judge Jones remanded Martin in custody until he is sentenced on August 8 after probation reports are completed.
