Surbiton Trophy doubles champion Arnaud Clement brought the curtain down on veteran Jona Bjorkman's Wimbledon career on Tuesday.
The 36-year-old Swede, who quits the game at the end of the season, crashed in four sets 6-4 6-7 4-6 6-7 to the Frenchman in the first round of his 15th and final visit to SW19.
Bjorkman now concentrates on landing his fourth Wimbledon doubles title when he kicks off his campaign with Australian Alicia Molik in the mixed event today.
Surbiton Trophy men singles champion Frank Dankevic crashed out in the second round to American Bobby Reynolds 6-4 6-7 2-6 4-6 on Wednesday.
While female counterpart Marina Erakovic of Australia is through to the second round of the women's singles after a 7-6 7-6 win over Dutch doubles partner Michaella Krajicek.
