Police were given extra powers in Thornton Heath yesterday to evict people from an unauthorised encampment.

People were evicted from the unauthorised encampment yesterday (July 17).

Thornton Heath safer neighbourhood team executed a Section 60C of the Criminal Justice and Public Disorder Act 1994 in order to evict people who had set up an unauthorised encampment behind the Iceland on Brigstock Road.

The tweet reads: “Thornton Heath SNT executed a Section 60C of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 to evict individuals who had setup an unauthorised encampment towards the back of Iceland.”
