French Open champion Rafael may be hard on the heels of world number one Roger Federer in the world rankings, but the Swiss Wimbledon legend wouldn't know.

The 26-year-old produced two sets of faultless tennis on Wednesday before overcoming a wobble in the third to beat Sweden's Robin Soderling 6-3 6-4 7-6 on Centre Court.

Federer is eyeing his sixth consecutive singles title at SW19, but is not concerned with the chasing pack after his crown as number one.

"You look at the rankings, not particularly because of your own ranking, but just to see who is moving around," he said.

"The rankngs are always there, but I wouldn't know now how much my lead is, for instance, or what it takes.

"As long as I am number one, I don't really look at my ranking very much."
