A 21-year-old "rowdy" Sunbury woman was given a slap on the wrist for swearing at a policeman outside a Sunbury Cross supermarket.

On Thursday Staines Magistrates' Court heard how Michelle Culver, of Octavia Way, refused to leave Farmfoods discount supermarket on Thursday, June 5, and was ejected by a security guard who thought she had previously been banned.

Culver's solicitor, Miss Chapman, said her client had grown angry because she was not banned and said she regretted having sworn at police officer PC Blanchard, who attended the scene.

Culver admitted saying: "F*** off you fat prick" and "F*** off you fat b*****d." But she resented being "lumped in the same category" as younger friends and relatives she was with that day, who had been banned from the store.

Culver was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £43 costs.

Chairman of the bench Mr Renshaw told Culver: "You need to work on your language. It could get you in a lot of trouble."
