A man was rescued from his first-floor flat when a fire broke out in his building in the early hours of this morning.
The London Fire Brigade was called to the blaze at a shop and three-storey dwellings in Addington Road, Selsdon, at 12.21am.
The man was led to safety by firefighters using an extension ladder. He was suffering from smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.
Five per cent of the first floor was damaged by the blaze.
