A TikTok video has gone viral with more than one million views of a car stranded in the River Thames near Richmond Bridge.

The clip by @londonhotspots is captioned “never a good idea to park on a hill next to the river” with the song Oh No by Kreepa playing in the background, which is often used in videos where something disastrous occurs.

The video shows onlookers on the bridge looking down at the car which is standard in the water with its windscreen wipers on.

A few comments highlight similar circumstances – with one saying: “A school mate lost her car here around 1993! It’s been notorious as long as I’ve been alive. I have risked it though!”

Another said: “Seen this before over the years. Parking spaces just next to Richmond Bridge, then the tide comes in.” with one commentor adding, “Sad to say I lost my car here too."
