Firefighters are tackling a blaze at a block of flats in Wimbledon.
Six fire engines and about 20 firefighters are trying to put out the fire in Poplar Court in Gap Road.
A London Fire Brigade spokesman said half of the building's roof and half of a five-room third-floor flat are alight.
He said he thought it was likely an evacuation of the flats had take place.
The blaze is thought to have started at about 10am.
Fire crews from Wimbledon, Tooting and Wandsworth fire stations are currently at the scene.
"The roof is like a skeleton now," said witness Toby Steedman.
