Austrian Johannes Ertl should complete his move to Crystal Palace in the first week of July according to manager Neil Warnock.

The versatile utility man impressed in a trial earlier in the season and Warnock decided to make a permanent move for him and has agreed terms with the 25-year-old and just needs to finalise things with his club Austria Vienna.

Warnock said: "We've agreed everything with him so it's just a matter of getting everything done and agreed.

"Hopefully that will be done first week in July.

"He is a utility player, and can play at centre half, as a central midfield anchor or at right back. He is somebody that can help us out in a numbers of areas."

Ertl could be seen as a replacement for veteran 34-year-old Matt Lawrence who filled in in a number of positions for the Eagles last year but has just one year left on his contract.
