A 19-year-old man has been taken to hospital after a stabbing in Mitcham.

The incident happened in South Lodge Avenue at 10.35am on Saturday (June 3).

Officers were called to the scene and found a man injured.

He was taken to hospital for treatment where his condition was assessed as not life-threatening.

No arrests have been made as police enquiries continue.

Merton Police (@MPSMerton) tweeted: “We were called at 10:35hrs on Sat 3 June to #SouthLodgeAvenue in #Mitcham, following reports of a stabbing.

“Officers responded finding a 19yr old man injured. He was taken to hospital; his injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

“There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.

“Local officers are on patrol there speaking to the community but anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 quoting reference CAD 2449/03Jun.

“Our thanks are as always in advance.”
