Police have said that an elderly woman has suffered “significant “ injuries after she was involved in a crash with a lorry in Worcester Park.

Police were called to the scene at 3.10pm on April 5 and closed Trent Way road after a pedestrian was involved in a crash with a lorry.

Paramedics and London Air Ambulance also attended, and the 80-year-old was taken to a south London hospital for treatment.

First medics arrived on scene within six minutes.

Police are awaiting an update on the pedestrian’s condition but say that her injuries are “significant but not life-threatening”.

Officers have announced that the driver of the lorry is cooperating with police and their inquiries.

No arrests have been made.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 2.10pm today (5 April) to reports of a road traffic collision on Trent Way, Worcester Park.

“We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer, a medic in a fast response car and a clinical team manager.

"We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“Our first medics arrived in six minutes.

“We treated one patient at the scene before taking them to a major trauma centre as a priority.”

A spokesperson for Police said: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at about 2.10pm on Wednesday, 5 April to reports of a lorry in collision with a pedestrian on Trent Way in Worcester Park.

“Officers and London's Air Ambulance attended.

“The female pedestrian, aged 80, was taken to a south London hospital; her injuries are significant, but not thought to be life threatening. We await further updates.

“There have been no arrests. The driver is assisting police with enquiries.”
