A woman has been taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation after a fire damaged half the ground floor of a three-storey house in Tulse Hill.
On Wednesday (March 15) at 6.39pm firefighters from Norwood and Brixton arrived at the scene of the fire.
Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters were at the scene, where the fire damaged half of the lower ground floor.
One woman was taken to hospital by paramedics after suffering from smoke inhalation, and two children left the property before firefighters arrived.
The fire was under control by 8.44pm and is believed to have been caused by an electrical item coming into contact with a cooking hob that had been switched on accidentally.

The full statement from London Fire Brigade said: “Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters tackled a fire at a house on Birkbeck Place in Tulse Hill.
“Half of the lower ground floor of a three-storey terraced house was damaged by fire.
“A woman was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews suffering from smoke inhalation.
“Two children left the property before firefighters arrived.
"The Brigade was called at 6.39pm and the fire was under control by 8.44pm.
“Fire engines from West Norwood and Brixton fire stations attended the scene.
The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical item coming into contact with a cooking hob that had been accidentally switched on.”
