A man has been taken to hospital after scaffolding collapsed in Croydon.

The incident happened in South End just after 8.30am today (March 2).

Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a man injured.

It is believed that the man had fallen from height and was taken to a south London hospital.

His condition was later assessed as not life-threatening.

Emergency services currently remain at the scene.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called by London Ambulance Service [LAS] at 08:32hrs on Thursday, 2 March to reports of a possible scaffold collapse and a person fallen from height at South End, Croydon.

“Officers attended and safety cordons and closures were put in place.

“An injured man was taken by LAS to a south London hospital where his condition is not life threatening.

“Emergency services remain on scene at this time.”
