Two boys have been charged with murder after a 20-year-old man was stabbed to death in Tonbridge.

A 17-year-old boy from Coulsdon and a 16-year-old boy from Tonbridge are due to appear before Medway Magistrates' Court today.

20-year-old Thomas Waugh was assaulted during the early hours of August 19.

The suspects were further charged with the attempted robbery of Thomas, as well as an additional count of robbery in relation to two men who had been with him before the alleged murder.

A 16-year-old girl and a 47-year-old woman, who were also arrested, have been released on bail, pending further enquiries.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: "Two suspects have been charged with murder following a fatal stabbing in Tonbridge.

"A 17-year-old boy from Coulsdon and a 16-year-old boy from Tonbridge will appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 24 August.

"The charges were authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service following the death of 20-year-old Thomas Waugh (pictured), who was assaulted during the early hours of Friday 19 August 2022.

"The suspects were further charged with the attempted robbery of Mr Waugh, as well as an additional count of robbery in relation to two men who had been with him prior to the alleged murder.

"A 16-year-old girl and a woman, aged 47, who were also arrested, have been released on bail, pending further enquiries.

"Ongoing appeal Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are continuing to appeal to anyone with information, yet to speak to police, to contact them.
