A neighbour of a Colliers Wood woman found dead in her home on Thursday appeared in court today charged with her murder.
Christopher McMahon, 37, of Laburnum Road, stood in the dock at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court accused of strangling 62-year-old Jill Grinstead.
Officers were called to the house at around 9am when a neighbour noticed the door to Jill Grinstead's property was open and the front window smashed.
McMahon, wearing a black sweatshirt and jeans, appeared in court for five minutes before being committed to the Old Bailey for a case management hearing on June 2.
