Part of the ground floor of a house in Sutton has been damaged by a fire.

Firefighters were called to a house fire on Vale Road at 2.14pm today (August 8).

Part of the ground floor of an end-of-terrace house was damaged by the blaze.

There has been no reports of any injuries and the fire was under control just after 3pm.

Four fire engines and 25 firefighters from Sutton, Wimbledon and New Malden fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a house fire on Vale Road in Sutton.

“Part of the ground floor of an end-of-terrace house was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.

“The Brigade was called at 1414 and the fire was under control by 1506.

“Fire crews from Sutton, Wimbledon and New Malden fire stations attended the scene.

“The cause of the fire is not known at this time.”
