Having visited the Airtrack exhibition at Spelthorne Leisure Centre, I was disappointed by the lack of any detail on roads and access to the proposed new high level platform.

What about the disabled and elderly for which our existing station caters for?

Just to draw a new station on the Garibaldi pub site is likely to mislead and we only learned of the proposed overhead power lines over Staines Moor from our local press.

Obviously, development plans for land mass east of the Iron Bridge needs to be included in the overview of the area.

I think that all future proposals should be shown for at least 14 days in prominent areas used by the public such as the Elmsleigh and Two Rivers centres to enable a larger number of people to find out what is happening to Staines.

From the plans it would appear this new high level platform is needed to cater solely for trains from Reading and Guildford, arriving via the new line.

It should be noted that every extra train along this route will require closure of all the level crossings en route with the resulting traffic delays.

It is good to note that our existing station facilities are to be enhanced, but it is assumed that Terminal Five trains will not stop at both Staines stations.
