Prolific hitman Nana Badu is hoping Walton Casuals show more attacking flair after they all but sealed their Ryman Division League One South survival on Saturday.

The Stags' 3-2 triumph at bottom side Molesey moves the Stags 12 points clear of the drop zone.

And Badu, who grabbed two goals at the weekend, insists Casuals will now cast off the shackles.

"We wanted to win that game badly as it gives us real breathing space at the bottom," he said.

"We were not really on our game but we will definitely take the three points.

"It is so difficult to play against sides fighting for their lives as it is a real scrap.

"But I hope now we can play a bit as the pressure is lifting."

The striker took his season tally to 14 with Saturday's brace which, along with a John Ambridge strike, was enough to see off a desperate Moles side.

And Badu admitted he was in a rich vein of form.

He added: "It is the best form I have been in, goal scoring wise.

"I am still suffering with a knee problem, so I am really happy to be getting these goals when I am not even fully fit.

"As my knee is affecting me, I am having to use my brain more to get into positions."

Corinthian Casuals visit Franklyn Road on Saturday, presenting the Stags a great opportunity to climb further up the table.

And, with his side sitting in a season-high 15th place, Badu agrees it is a good time to be at the club.

He added: "At the moment, I am really enjoying my football here.

"It is a great club and the team is really on the up.

"I would like to stay here - hopefully, I will get my knee sorted in the summer as it is difficult playing at this level."
