The jury in the case of a former wheelclamper accused of murdering two women have been sent home for a second night after failing to reach a verdict.

The jury in the trial of Levi Bellfield retired yesterday to reach their verdict.

They were sent home at 1.35pm this afternoon, having been unable to reach a conclusion.

Bellfield, 39, of West Drayton, denies murdering French student Amelie Delagrange on Twickenham Green in August 2004 and Marsha McDonnell in Hampton in 2003.

He also denies two charges of attempted murder plus counts of false imprisonment and kidnap.

The seven women and five men were told to be back at The Old Bailey tomorrow morning when they will continue their discussions.
