Corinthian Casuals skipper Chris Horwood has targeted six points from their next two crucial games as they attempt to banish any lingering relegation fears.

Casuals visit fellow Ryman South strugglers Walton Casuals on Saturday and host rock-bottom Molesey next Tuesday.

"They are massive games for the club," admitted Horwood.

"If we can get six points from those two games suddenly we are looking up the table rather than over our shoulders.

"This table is so tight a couple of wins can move you up the table very quickly."

Casuals have been in horrendous form this year, winning just one of their past 13 games.

It was no surprise that league leaders Dover Athletic left King George's Field with a 2-0 on Saturday, but Horwood is upbeat about Casuals' prospects.

"We went into the game against Dover as underdogs but I thought we played really well," he said.

"When we were 1-0 down we hit the bar and if that had gone in I think we could have held out for a draw.

"At the moment, we are conceding too many goals and not scoring enough, but everyone is still confident."

Despite their poor run, Horwood says Casuals' management team of Brian Adamson and Keith Holloway have been keeping spirits up.

"Brian and Keith are very supportive and keep telling us that we have to believe," he said.

"They are always encouraging the players and keep saying that they have faith in our ability.

"Everyone is in this together and we are all still very confident of staying up."

Casuals players also have the incentive of a Wembley place to compete for. They face AFC Wimbledon on April 13 in a match to mark the club's 125th anniversary.

Tickets are available for £20 (U16s £12) by calling Casuals on 07717 632005 or Dons on 020 8 5473528.
